Sandstone

Classification by diameter
According to the diameter of sand particles, it can be divided into: giant sandstone (2-1mm), coarse sandstone (1-0.5mm), medium sandstone (0.5-0.25mm), fine sandstone (0.25-0.125mm), and fine sandstone (0.125-0.0625mm). Among the above types of sandstones, the corresponding particle size content should be less than 50%

Classification by rock type
Classified by rock (mineral) type: quartz sandstone (the content of quartz and various siliceous rock cuttings accounts for more than 95% of the total sand grade rock cuttings), quartz Greywacke, feldspathic sandstone (the debris composition is mainly quartz and feldspar, in which the quartz content is less than 75% and feldspar content is more than 18.75%), feldspathic Greywacke, lithic
sandstone (the quartz content in the debris is less than 75%, the rock debris content is generally more than 18.755, and the rock debris/feldspar ratio is more than 3), and rock debris Greywacke.

Rock is a kind of Sedimentary rock, which is mainly cemented by various sands. The particle diameter is 0.05-2mm, in which the sand content is more than 50%, the structure is stable, usually in light brown or red, and mainly contains silicon, calcium, clay and iron oxide. The vast majority of sandstone is composed of quartz or feldspar.
